High-Temperature Stress Induces Autophagy in Rainbow Trout Skeletal Muscle

چکیده

Ectothermic animals, such as teleosts, have increasingly been exposed to stressful high-temperature events due global warming. Currently, the effects of thermal stress on skeletal muscle, a key tissue for fish growth, are unknown. This study examined impact muscle transcriptome rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in control (15 °C) and (20 conditions. Additionally, we plasmatic levels cortisol, glucose, creatine kinase activity, oxidative damage autophagy activation muscle. High-temperature induced significant increases cortisol glucose levels. Nevertheless, no changes were observed activity plasma oxidation. Skeletal RNA was isolated sequenced using HiSeq Illumina platform. A total 383,796,290 reads mapped onto reference genome. The transcriptomic analysis showed that 293 genes upregulated group, mainly associated with autophagosome assembly, amino acid transport, glutamine metabolic process. On other hand, 119 downregulated digestion, proteolysis, contraction In addition, RT-qPCR differentially expressed representative Western blot LC3-II/LC3-I confirmed by high temperature. sheds light intriguing facets adaptive response provides insights into physiology teleosts.

Acute stress response in triploid rainbow trout

The purpose of this study was to determine whether triploid salmonid fishes differ from diploids in their hematological and physiological responses to an acute handling and confinement stress, induced by netting fish from their tanks and placing them in a bucket. Blood samples were Ž . collected from fish prior to the handling stress and at either 30 min rainbow trout or 20 and 40 Ž . min brook...

Heat stress causes dysfunctional autophagy in oxidative skeletal muscle

We have previously established that 24 h of environmental hyperthermia causes oxidative stress and have implicated mitochondria as likely contributors to this process. Given this, we hypothesized that heat stress would lead to increased autophagy/mitophagy and a reduction in mitochondrial content. To address this hypothesis pigs were housed in thermoneutral (TN; 20°C) or heat stress (35°C) cond...

Thyroxine induces transitions in red muscle kinetics and steady swimming kinematics in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).

During normal development, rainbow trout undergo a shift in red muscle contraction kinetics and swimming kinematics. Young trout parr have faster muscle kinetics and faster tailbeat frequency during swimming than older, larger juvenile trout. In this study, the thyroid hormone thyroxine (T(4)) was used to induce these changes in trout parr. This allowed a comparison of swimming kinematics, thro...
